Wimbledon is an annual tennis tournament which has been held in Wimbledon, England since 1877. The best international tennis players come to take part in this sporting event which is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and considered to be the most prestigious.
Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments; Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. The competition is held over two weeks in late June, early July and it is the only tennis tournament which is still played on grass courts.
